How to tell sizes of cigars:

Cigars are measured in ring gauge and length. Ring gauge is the diameter of the cigar, given in 1/64th inch increments. Length is given in inches. Comparing the ring gauge to the size of a coin can give you an approximate size of ring gauge.

Big as a dime: ring gauge is about 44. Commonly found in Coronas and Petit Coronas.

 

 

Big as a penny: ring gauge is about 46. Commonly found in Corona Extras and Grand Coronas.

 

 

Big as a nickel: ring gauge is about 48. Commonly found in Robustos, Toros and Churchills.

 

 

Big as a quarter: ring gauge is about 54. Commonly found in Robustos, Toros, Churchills, Double Coronas, Gigante.
